Brenda Hoffman

Brenda Hoffman is Senior Vice President, Group Head of Information Technology, TMX Group.

Ms. Hoffman leads the technology team that supports all facets of the TMX Group business and works in collaboration with business areas to ensure strategies can be designed, developed and delivered. Ms. Hoffman's technology teams operate Canada's premier stock exchanges, Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, as well as Canada's national derivatives exchange, Montréal Exchange, and two clearinghouses, Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC) and The Canadian Depository for Securities Limited (CDS). Ms. Hoffman also leads a for-profit risk management business, Razor Risk.

In 2014, under Ms. Hoffman's leadership, TMX Group launched its new high-performance core trading technology, TMX Quantum XA, established a framework for enterprise information security and made significant advances in building out the technology services businesses. TMX Quantum XA received global recognition, including two prestigious technology awards; the Outstanding Product Achievement Award at the 29th Annual CATAAlliance Innovation and Leadership Awards and an Ingenious Award for innovative information and communications technology achievement.

Ms. Hoffman has more than 20 years of financial market experience. Before joining TMX Group in 2001, Ms. Hoffman was with IBM Global Services where she was Director of the World Wide Competency Center for Exchanges and Electronic Markets.

Ms. Hoffman holds an honours B.A. in Economics from the University of Waterloo.
